Meet the mother and daughter who went viral for having matching white hair. When Mayah Aziz was born with a lock of white hair, that’s exactly what her family did. White hair is often associated with old age or albinism, but Maya was born with a condition known as piebaldism. Piebaldism is distinguished by a lack of cells known as melanocytes in the skin and hair.
This condition runs in Aziz’s family, so his mother Talyta wasn’t too surprised. But instead of hiding her daughter’s differences, she started sharing Mayah’s photos publicly online and people all over the world fell in love with this cherubic baby.
Mayah even cosplayed characters in the same vein, like Rogue from X-Men and Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians. Gives baby a natural cool factor. I mean, who else can say that he shares the same trait as an “X Men” character? Talyta hopes the positive support from the internet (and the powerful characters who share her traits) will inspire her daughter to love her hair.
Talyta’s pregnancy was far from easy, and despite her advanced age, it was unintended. This mom accidentally got pregnant at age 40, and the excruciating months that followed were no walk in the park. Eventually he was diagnosed with hyperemesis.
After almost 24 hours of intense labor, she undergoes a C-section and sports “the most beautiful hairstyle in the world.” The doctors and nurses in the room were shocked, although it wasn’t too unexpected for Talyta. Hospital workers showered her with praise, saying she was “born with lights” and calling her a “fashion baby.” It’s safe to say that these two became famous locally at their hospital and received many visits from the staff.
