The Many Moods of Mt. Fishtail: Witnessing Beauty at Pokhara

Xavi and I went to Pokhara on a tennis trip. She was playing in her two ITF qualifying tournaments in Pokhara, Nepal. So we stayed for about 10 days. A tennis trip is different than a vacation. Above all, you can see the competition venue. She spends time on the court almost every day, and then it’s an emotional rollercoaster of winning, losing, and byeing matches. Highs are okay, but lows can be really low sometimes!

Still, we told each other that we would try new restaurants for each meal and make it a bit of a holiday. It was Chavi’s first time in Nepal and I was her third time back to Pokhara alone.

All my previous trips to Pokhara were two nights and the clouds dominated – we could barely see Machhapuchhre or Fishtail mountains. But that all changed when I stayed in Pokhara for about 10 days at the end of November/early December. With good weather, Pokhara has its charms and Chavi and I were hooked.
